Freshly Harvested Caberneat Sauvignon Grapes
At Galante Family Winery, great wine begins with exceptional land, carefully tended vines, and trusted partnerships.
While the majority of our grapes come from Carmel Valley in Monterey County, we also work with select growers in some of California's finest appellations, including the Santa Lucia Highlands, Arroyo Seco, Napa Valley, and Sonoma. Each vineyard is chosen for its distinctive soils, climate, elevation, and ability to bring out the best in each grape variety they specialize in.
Our involvement begins long before harvest. Working closely with our growers, we oversee every aspect of farming our grapes-from pruning and irrigation to crop levels and harvest timingto ensure the fruit reaches its full potential. These relationships are built on trust, shared standards, and a commitment to doing things the right way. The result is a collection of wines that reflects the diversity of California wine country.
Carmel Valley's cool coastal influence, warm afternoons, and dramatic shifts between daytime and nighttime temperatures create a long, gradual growing season. The grapes ripen slowly, developing concentrated flavor while retaining the natural acidity and balance that define the region's finest wines. From the rugged hillsides of Carmel Valley and the windswept slopes of the Santa Lucia Highlands to the gravelly soils of Arroyo Seco and the renowned vineyards of Napa and Sonoma, each site brings its own character to our wines.
